order to maintain the unemployment insurance trust fund at a
level sufficient to ensure that benefits will be paid from the fund.
(f) (1) The Department of Legislative Services shall
provide staffing for the Committee.
(2) The Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation
shall report to the Committee on the condition of unemployment
insurance in the State.
(g) A member of the Committee may not receive compensation
for serving on the committee, but is entitled to reimbursement for
expenses under the standard state travel regulations, as provided
in the State budget.
(h) The Committee shall report its findings and
recommendations to the governor and, subject to § 2-1246 of the
State Government Article, the General Assembly on December 31 of
each year.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2007. It shall remain effective for a period of 3 years and 7 months and, at the
end of December 31, 2010, with no further action required by the General Assembly,
this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.
