9-609.
(A) Whenever a date of release from confinement in a State correctional
facility is a [Sunday] SATURDAY, SUNDAY, or legal holiday, the inmate shall be
released on the FIRST preceding day THAT IS NOT A SATURDAY, SUNDAY, OR LEGAL
HOLIDAY.
(B) THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS ESTABLISHING A
RELEASE PLAN FOR INMATES UPON RELEASE FROM CONFINEMENT IN A STATE
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY TO HELP IDENTIFY RESOURCES TO ASSIST INMATES
FOLLOWING RELEASE, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF TRANSPORTATION FROM THE
FACILITY FOR AN INMATE UPON RELEASE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2004.

FOR the purpose of exempting certain amounts of life insurance benefits from
required reductions in awards for criminal injuries compensation; and generally

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(a) (1) (i) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, an award
under this subtitle shall be made in accordance with the schedule of benefits, as it
existed on January 1, 2001, and degree of disability as specified in Title 9, Subtitle 6
of the Labor and Employment Article and any other applicable provisions of the Labor
and Employment Article, except for Title 9, Subtitle 8 of the Labor and Employment
Article.
