ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR., Governor                              Ch. 88

Racing Commission, for the purposes of determining a retiree's State subsidy,
creditable service shall be determined with respect to service as an additional
employee or agent beginning from the initial date of employment or January 1, 1986,
whichever is later.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning

Department of Housing and Community Development - Community
Development Administration - Grants to Home Buyers

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Community Development Administration of the
Department of Housing and Community Development to award certain grants
to home buyers for settlement expenses under certain circumstances; making
stylistic changes;
and generally relating to grants to home buyers from the
Community Development Administration.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community Development
Section 2-201(b)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community Development

2-201.

(b) (1) The Administration is hereby created as a division of the Department
to coordinate the various activities and programs which may contribute to sound
community development, to encourage and facilitate the development of new and
existing communities by reducing the costs of development through grants, loans, and
other forms of financial assistance, to encourage and facilitate energy conservation
and the utilization of solar energy in housing and commercial buildings by providing
grants, loans, and other forms of financial assistance, making available land for such
development and by assisting the efforts of private enterprise, municipalities,
counties, local public agencies, local development corporations, and nonprofit
organizations.
