(II) IF THE CONSUMER HOUSEHOLD GOODS MOVER DOES NOT
HAVE A RESIDENT AGENT IN THE STATE, THE CONSUMER HOUSEHOLD GOODS
MOVER'S PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS.

(A) (1) THE ATTORNEY GENERAL MAY INSTITUTE A CIVIL ACTION AGAINST
ANY PERSON THAT VIOLATES THIS SUBTITLE TO RECOVER FOR THE STATE A CIVIL
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $1,000 FOR EACH VIOLATION.
(2) FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE, EACH FAILURE TO PROVIDE A
CONSUMER WITH A WRITTEN RECEIPT THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF §
14-3203 OF THIS SUBTITLE IS AN INDEPENDENT VIOLATION.
(B) THE ATTORNEY GENERAL MAY SEEK AN INJUNCTION IN A CIVIL ACTION
TO PROHIBIT A PERSON THAT IS ENGAGED IN A VIOLATION OF THIS SUBTITLE FROM
CONTINUING TO ENGAGE IN THE VIOLATION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning
Property Tax and Transfer and Recordation Taxes - Land Trusts - Credits
and Exemptions
FOR the purpose of altering certain requirements for certain conservation land to
qualify for a certain tax credit against the State and local property tax; altering
certain requirements for exemptions from recordation and transfer taxes for
instruments of writing conveying certain interests in property to certain land
trusts under certain circumstances; and generally relating to conservation
property owned by land trusts and the transfer of conservation easements and
fee simple interests to land trusts.
