Ch. 26 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(3) THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE MAY NOT RECEIVE
COMPENSATION. (B) DUTIES. THE COMMITTEE SHALL: (1) RECOMMEND TO THE SHERIFF STANDARDS FOR REPORTING
REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSEES; (2) EXAMINE THE AUDITS AND REPORTS REQUIRED UNDER § 13-2504 OF
THIS SUBTITLE; AND (3) MAKE ANY OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS TO ASSIST THE SHERIFF IN
THE ADMINISTRATION OF LICENSING AND OTHER DUTIES OF THE SHERIFF UNDER
THIS SUBTITLE. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 256A. In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to the appointment of the
members of the committee by the sheriff is substituted for the former
reference to "[t]he Sheriff... shall establish a Gaming Advisory Committee"
for clarity. Defined terms: "Committee" § 13-2501
"Sheriff" § 13-2501 13-2506. PENALTIES. (A) SUSPENSION. (1) THE SHERIFF SHALL SUSPEND A LICENSE IF THE LICENSEE FAILS
TO COMPLY WITH THE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF § 13-2504 OF THIS SUBTITLE. (2) THE SUSPENSION SHALL CONTINUE UNTIL THE LICENSEE MEETS
THE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF § 13-2504 OF THIS SUBTITLE. (B) DISQUALIFICATION. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION AND SUBJECT TO
THE PROCEDURES PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION, THE SHERIFF
MAY NOT ISSUE A NEW LICENSE FOR 1 YEAR TO A LICENSEE THAT: (1) HAS REFUSED TO FILE A REPORT REQUIRED UNDER § 13-2504 OF
THIS SUBTITLE; OR (2) HAS FAILED TO COMPLY WITH THIS SUBTITLE. (C) PROCEDURES. (1) THE SHERIFF SHALL NOTIFY THE LICENSEE OR APPLICANT FOR A
LICENSE BY REGISTERED MAIL OF THE SHERIFF'S SUSPENSION OR REFUSAL TO
ISSUE A LICENSE.
