13-504. PRIZES PERMITTED — PADDLE WHEELS AND FILMED HORSE RACING.
AN ORGANIZATION CONDUCTING A GAMING EVENT MAY AWARD A PRIZE OF
MONEY OR MERCHANDISE TO ANY INDIVIDUAL IN ANY AMOUNT IN ONE GAME OR
SPIN USING:
(1) A PADDLE WHEEL OR WHEEL OF FORTUNE; OR
(2) A FILM OF A HORSE RACE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 257(a)(2).
In this section and throughout this subtitle, the references to a prize of
"money" are substituted for the former references to a "cash" prize for
consistency within this article.
The reference to an "organization" is added for clarity in light of the
authority to perform the actions authorized under this section.
Defined term: "Gaming event" § 13-501
13-505. RAFFLES.
(A) LIMITATION ON PRIZES.
A PERMIT HOLDER MAY AWARD PRIZES IN MERCHANDISE AND MONEY IN A
RAFFLE IN ANY AMOUNT.
(B) LIMITATION ON NUMBER
A PERMIT HOLDER MAY NOT CONDUCT MORE THAN 12 RAFFLES IN A CALENDAR
YEAR
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 257(a)(3).
In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to a "permit holder" is added
to clarify the object of the authorization.
In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to a "permit holder" is
substituted for the former reference to an "organization" for clarity.

13-506. POLITICAL FUNDRAISERS.
(A) IN GENERAL.
NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISIONS OF THIS TITLE OR TITLE 12 OF
THIS ARTICLE, A POLITICAL COMMITTEE AS DEFINED IN ARTICLE 33, § 1-101 OF THE
CODE MAY CONDUCT A FUNDRAISER AT WHICH PRIZES OF MERCHANDISE OR MONEY
ARE AWARDED IN A GAME OR SPIN USING A PADDLE WHEEL OR WHEEL OF FORTUNE.
