Charter Amendment
Resolution No: 2002-08
WHEREAS, Article DC, Section 904 of the Charter of the Town of Kensington has
limitations of content that hinder the ability of the Town to carry out its mandated
functions;
WHEREAS, the Charter amendment to Article IX, Section 904 has been
developed by the Council to improve the governance of the Town; ;
WHEREAS, Article DC, Section 904 is amended to delete the reference . to
employees because the Council does not set compensation for Town employees by
ordinance ("The compensation of all officials [and employees] of the Town shall be set
from time to time by ordinance passed by the Council.");
[Section 904 of Article IX of the Charter of the Town of Kensington, Montgomery
County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal
Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 2000 Supplement), repealed and reenacted,
with amendments.

A RESOLUTION concerning
County Commissions of Charles County Annexation - 88.0417 Acres
FOR the purpose of authorizing the annexation of 88.0417 acres, more or less, of
contiguous land into the corporate limits of the Town of La Plata by amending
the corporate limits of the Town; establishing certain terms, conditions and
circumstances applicable to such land and to the owners thereof; providing for
the zoning of such land upon annexation; and all matters relating to the
annexation of such 88.0417 acres, more or less, of land into the Town of La Plata.
[Pursuant to Sections C1-1 and C2-1 of the Charter of the Town of La Plata,
Charles County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of
Municipal Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 2000 Supplement).
