FOR the purpose of adding a representative from the Veterans of the Battle of the
Bulge to the Maryland Veterans Commission; and generally relating to the
Maryland Veterans "Commission amending the membership of the Maryland
Veterans Commission; and generally relating to the membership of the Maryland
Veterans Commission.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Government

9-907.
(a) (1) The Commission consists of the following [29] 30 members:
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(i) as an ex officio member, the Chairman of the Maryland
Veterans' Home Commission; and
(ii) [28] 39 members appointed by the Governor.
(2) Of the [28] 29 appointed members:
(i) 1 shall be appointed from each of the 8 congressional districts in
the State;
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(ii)
|
|
1 shall be a veteran of World War II, appointed from the State
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
at large;
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(iii)
|
|
1 shall be a representative of a women veterans organization in
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
the State; and
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(iv) 1 shall be appointed from a list of individuals submitted to the
Governor by each of the following organizations:

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
the American Ex-Prisoners of War, Inc.;
|
|
|
|
|
|
1.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
the American Legion;
|
|
|
|
|
|
