In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to "§ 1-101 of the Public
Utility Companies Article is added for clarity.
In subsection (b) of this section, the former reference to "causing an object
to" strike a railroad vehicle is deleted as included in the references to
striking a railroad vehicle by "shooting or throwing an object" at and
"causing an object to fall" on the vehicle.

6-506. UNAUTHORIZED BUYING OR SELLING TICKETS.
(A) PROHIBITED.
UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY A RAILROAD COMPANY THAT MAINTAINS OFFICES IN
THE STATE, A PERSON MAY NOT:
(1) BUY, SELL, OR ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF BUYING OR SELLING
RAILROAD TICKETS OR THE UNUSED PARTS OF RAILROAD TICKETS;
(2) ACT AS VENDOR OR BROKER OF WHOLE OR PARTLY USED RAILROAD
TICKETS;
(3) SOLICIT PERSONALLY OR BY SIGN, ADVERTISEMENT, OR OTHERWISE
TO BUY OR SELL RAILROAD TICKETS; OR
(4) AID OR ABET IN BUYING OR SELLING RAILROAD TICKETS IN THE
STATE.
(B) PENALTY.
A PERSON WHO VIOLATES THIS SECTION IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND
ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 6 MONTHS OR A
FINE NOT EXCEEDING $100 OR BOTH.
(C) SEPARATE VIOLATION.
EACH ACT OF BUYING OR SELLING RAILROAD TICKETS IS A SEPARATE
VIOLATION.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 460(a).
In subsection (a)(1), (3), and (4) of this section, the references to "railroad"
tickets are added for clarity.
Former Art. 27, § 460(b), which provided that if a violation of this section
occurs in a county or the City of Baltimore, the State's Attorney for the
affected county or the City shall enforce this section, is deleted as
unnecessary. A violation of this section that occurs anywhere in the State
will occur either in a county or Baltimore City. Furthermore, even without
this provision, a violation of this section is a criminal violation subject to
enforcement by the State's Attorney. Finally, the specific reference to
