The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 307 - Maryland Technology Development Corporation.
This bill authorizes the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) to
create, own, control or be a member of a for-profit or nonprofit corporation, limited
liability company, partnership or other entity. It also allows TEDCO to exercise any
power usually possessed by a private corporation in performing similar functions. The
bill repeals TEDCO's authority to manufacture projects.
House Bill 405, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 307.
Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
Senate Bill No. 307
AN ACT concerning

not for profit; repealing the authority of the Corporation to manufacture certain
projects; authorizing the Corporation to enter into a project with a manufacturer
for a certain purpose; authorizing the Corporation to exercise any power usually
possessed by a private corporation in performing similar functions; and
generally relating to the Maryland Technology Development Corporation.
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
Article 83A - Department of Business and Economic Development
Section 5-2A-02

(1998 Replacement Volume and 2001 Supplement)
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
