vetoed Senate Bill 126 - Health Occupations - Regulatory Boards - Sunset Extension
and Program Evaluation.
This bill extends the sunset date for several occupational boards and an advisory
committee within the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
House Bill 149, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 126.

AN ACT concerning
Health Occupations - Regulatory Boards - Sunset Extension and Program
Evaluation
FOR the purpose of continuing the State Board of Examiners for Audiologists,
Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Speech-Language Pathologists, the State Board of
Professional Counselors and Therapists, the State Board of Occupational
Therapy Practice, and the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee in
accordance with the provisions of the Maryland Program Evaluation Act (Sunset
Law) by extending to a certain date the termination provisions relating to the
statutory and regulatory authority of the boards and the advisory committee;
requiring that an evaluation of the boards and the advisory committee and the
statutes and regulations that relate to them be performed on or before a certain
date; making stylistic changes; and generally relating to health occupations
regulatory boards.
