Ch. 414 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND

|
(2) OF THE SEVEN COMMISSIONERS:
(I) ONE SHALL BE A TENANT OF A HOUSING AUTHORITY
PROPERTY; AND
(II) ONE SHALL BE A TENANT OF A HOUSING AUTHORITY
PROPERTY FOR SENIORS.
(2) (3) (I) The term of a Commissioner is 5 years.
(II) 1. THE TERMS OF COMMISSIONERS ARE STAGGERED AS
REQUIRED BY THE TERMS PROVIDED FOR COMMISSIONERS ON JULY 1, 2002.
2. AT THE END OF A TERM. A COMMISSIONER CONTINUES TO
SERVE UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
3. A COMMISSIONER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS
BEGUN SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS
APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
(3) (4) (i) A Commissioner may not be employed by the Authority for
compensation on a permanent or temporary full-time, part-time, contractual, or
other basis:
1. While a Commissioner of the Authority; or
2. For a period of 2 years after ceasing to be a Commissioner
of the Authority.
(ii) Subject to approval by the Mayor and by the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development, the prohibition contained in
subparagraph (i) of this paragraph may be waived for good cause shown.
(K) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW OR ANY BYLAW
ADOPTED BY THE AUTHORITY. THE AUTHORITY MAY REMOVE THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR BY THE AFFIRMATIVE VOTE OF AT LEAST FIVE COMMISSIONERS.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the terms of the
Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis shall expire as
follows:
(1) one member in 2003;
(2) one member in 2004;
(3) two members in 2006; and
(4) three members in 2007.
SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2002 July 1, 2002.
