(K) University of Maryland Center for Environmental Studies
(i) Upgrade Pier, Bulkhead, Paving at Chesapeake Biological
Laboratories
(ii) Replace Cooling Towers: Morris Marine Laboratory
(L) University System of Maryland Office
(i) Emergency Projects
(3) In accordance with Title 19 of the Education Article, each of the following
projects is approved as a project for an academic facility, and the University System of
Maryland may issue, sell, and deliver bonds in the total principal amount of $790,000
for the purposes of financing and refinancing the costs of these projects:
(A) University of Maryland Eastern Shore (Somerset County)
(i) Planning for Campus-wide Utilities Upgrade, provided that no
funds may be expended until:
1. the Part 1 Program Plan has been approved;
2. a cost estimate based on the approved plan has been
prepared by the Department of General Services; and
3. the budget committees of the General Assembly have
reviewed and commented on the cost estimate or 45 days have elapsed from the date
the cost estimate is received by the committees.
(B) Coppin State College (Baltimore City)
(i) Acquisition of Health and Human Services Building, provided
that no funds may be expended for planning or design until:
1. the Part 1 Program Plan has been approved;
2. a cost estimate based on the approved program has been
prepared by the Department of General Services; and
3. the budget committees of the General Assembly have
reviewed and commented on the cost estimate or 45 days elapse from the date the cost
estimate is received by the committees.
(4) In accordance with Title 19 of the Education Article, the following project is
approved as a project for an academic facility, and Morgan State University may
issue, sell, and deliver bonds in the total principal amount of $4,500,000 for the
purposes of financing and refinancing the costs of this project:
(A) Replacement of Steam Boilers and Renovations, provided that no
funds may be expended until:
(i) the Department of General Services has prepared a cost
estimate; and
