(I) THE COMPATIBILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY OF
COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS MAINTAINED BY
STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SAFETY UNITS; AND (II) ACCESSIBILITY BY OTHER APPROPRIATE ENTITIES TO PUBLIC
SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE DATABASES; AND (3) RECOMMEND STANDARDS, PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOLS TO
ENSURE THE COMPATIBILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY OF COMMUNICATION AND
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS MAINTAINED BY COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL
PUBLIC SAFETY UNITS; AND
(4) PROPOSE LEGISLATION FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY AS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING
COMPATIBILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION
MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS MAINTAINED BY COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SAFETY
UNITS.
(3) DEVELOP AND UPDATE ANNUALLY A STATEWIDE TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY. (B) TO THE EXTENT AUTHORIZED IN THE STATE BUDGET, THE COMMISSION
MAY PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP LOCAL JURISDICTIONS COMPLY
WITH REGULATIONS THAT THE RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BY THE COMMISSION
ADOPTS. 3-107, THE COMMISSION SHALL CONSULT AND COOPERATE WITH: (1) OTHER STATE STATES AND FEDERAL UNITS TO PROVIDE
REASONABLE COMPATIBILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY BETWEEN STATE
TECHNOLOGY COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
STANDARDS AND ANY NATIONALLY ESTABLISHED STANDARD; AND (2) OTHER UNITS OF STATE, COUNTY, OR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION
UNITS
GOVERNMENT CONCERNING TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS FOR COMPATIBILITY
AND INTEROPERABILITY OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
SYSTEMS.
3-108. (A) ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 1 OF EACH YEAR, THE COMMISSION SHALL
SUBMIT A REPORT OF ITS RECENT ACTIVITIES TO THE GOVERNOR, THE DEPARTMENT
OF BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT, THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS
CHIEF JUDGE OF THE COURT OF APPEALS AND, IN ACCORDANCE WITH § 2-1246 OF
THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. (B) ON AN ONGOING BASIS, THE COMMISSION SHALL INFORM THE
DEPARTMENT OF BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT, THE SENATE BUDGET AND TAXATION
COMMITTEE, THE HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE, THE HOUSE COMMERCE
AND GOVERNMENT MATTERS COMMITTEE, AND THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF
