[(vii)] (VIII) Nothing in this subsection shall affect the rights and
protections accorded an employee under any other provision of law.
(2) The County Commissioners shall pay the cost of all necessary
expenses incurred by the Sheriff and his staff.
(3) The Sheriff of Cecil County shall have the authority to formulate and
administer a plan that includes the method of supervision to use inmates the Sheriff
deems eligible and selects to perform, under the supervision of State, county, or
municipal employees, tasks the Sheriff assigns within the county or any incorporated
municipality within the county.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the Sheriff of Cecil County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the Sheriff of Cecil County shall take effect at the beginning of the
next following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2002.

AN ACT concerning
Court of Special Appeals - Sessions - Location
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Chief Judge of the Court of Special Appeals to
designate, in conjunction with the deans of certain law schools, certain
universities at which the Court of Special Appeals may hold its sessions; and
generally relating to certain universities at which the Court of Special Appeals
may hold its sessions under certain circumstances.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
