CHARTER RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND CHAPTER 5 OF THE CHARTER OF THE
TOWN OF BRENTWOOD, REGARDING COMPOSITION, SELECTION AND
TERMS OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE TOWN
COUNCIL.

[Sections 501.0 through 518.0 of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Prince
George's County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of
Municipal Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 2002 Supplement), repealed and
reenacted, with amendments.

Sections 519-0 and 520.0 of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Prince
George's County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of
Municipal Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 2002 Supplement), added.

Effective Date February 4, 2003]

BROOKEVILLE

(Montgomery County)

TOWN OF BROOKEVILLE
Resolution 99-01

WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Brookeville, Maryland, duly representing
and acting as agents for the Town of Brookeville, a municipal corporation, are
desirous of establishing a process for the election of Town Commissioners which will
ensure long term continuity for the Town,

AND WHEREAS, the current election process as established in the existing
Charter as duly enacted by the General Assembly in 1890, and revised and reenacted
by the Town in 1975, and subsequently revised, results in the election of all Town
Commissioners at the same time, which has the potential to interfere with that
objective,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF
BROOKEVILLE that Sections 3, 7, 15, 19 and 22 of the Charter of the Town of
Brookeville are hereby revised to add the following underlined language and
eliminate the language shown as bracketed, in order to provide the Commissioners
with a means of ensuring the desired continuity:
