(I) INFORMAL COUNSELING;

(II) TUTORING;

(III) ASSISTING THE CHILD WITH LIFE SKILLS TRAINING;

(IV) TRANSPORTING THE CHILD TO APPOINTMENTS;

(V) HELPING THE CHILD PREPARE FOR JOB INTERVIEWS;

(VI) INTERACTING WITH THE CHILD'S TEACHER OR EMPLOYER, IF
NECESSARY; AND

(VII) PROVIDING SIMILAR RESOURCES TO HELP THE CHILD BECOME
PRODUCTIVELY INVOLVED IN SCHOOL OR THE WORKPLACE.

(3)     AN INTENSIVE CASE MONITOR SHALL CONTACT THE CHILD DAILY
OR EVERY OTHER DAY, IN PERSON OR BY TELEPHONE.

(4)     AN INTENSIVE CASE MONITOR SHALL REPORT ANY MISBEHAVIOR OR
VIOLATIONS OF LAW BY THE CHILD TO THE DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR.

(D) (1) (I) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL RECRUIT INTENSIVE CASE
MONITORS FROM INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN IMPROVING THE LIVES OF
CHILDREN.

(II) INTENSIVE CASE MONITORS MAY INCLUDE RETIRED
INDIVIDUALS AND COLLEGE STUDENTS.

(2) AN INTENSIVE CASE MONITOR MAY NOT WORK MORE THAN 19
HOURS WEEKLY.

(3) THE DEPARTMENT MAY NOT ASSIGN MORE THAN FOUR CHILDREN
TO AN INTENSIVE CASE MONITOR.

(4) A FULL TIME DEPARTMENT CASE WORKER SHALL SUPERVISE THE
INTENSIVE CASE MONITOR.

(E) THE PROGRAM SHALL BE FUNDED BY THE EXISTING BUDGET OF THE
DEPARTMENT.

(F) THE DEPARTMENT MAY ADOPT REGULATIONS TO IMPLEMENT THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION.

(G) ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 1 OF EACH YEAR, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
SUBMIT A REPORT ON THE STATUS OF THE PILOT PROGRAM AND ANY FINDINGS AND
RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE GOVERNOR AND, SUBJECT TO §2-12
46 OF THE STATE
GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

(a)     There is a Task Force to Study the Mentoring and Monitoring of Children
in the Custody of or Under the Supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

(b)     The Task Force consists of the following members:
