2. IF THE FERRY COMPANY HAS NOT EXERCISED THE
FRANCHISE AFTER 18 MONTHS FROM THE DATE IT WAS GRANTED. THE FRANCHISE
SHALL BE NULL AND VOID.
3. A FERRY COMPANY GRANTED A FRANCHISE THAT
BECOMES NULL AND VOID UNDER THIS SUBPARAGRAPH IS NOT PRECLUDED FROM
SUBSEQUENTLY APPLYING FOR ANOTHER FRANCHISE TO OPERATE BETWEEN
SOMERSET COUNTY AND REEDVILLE. VIRGINIA ON A NONEXCLUSIVE BASIS.
(IV) (V) A FERRY COMPANY THAT IS GRANTED A FRANCHISE
UNDER THIS PARAGRAPH MAY NOT CONDUCT ANY GAMBLING OR GAMING
ACTIVITIES PROHIBITED UNDER THE CRIMINAL LAW ARTICLE ON ANY FERRY THAT
IT OPERATES UNDER THE FRANCHISE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October July 1, 2003.

AN ACT concerning
Education - High School Diplomas - World War II and Korean Conflict
Veterans
FOR the purpose of allowing an honorably discharged veteran of World War II to
apply to certain county boards of education to obtain a high school diploma if the
individual withdrew from a certain full-time public or private school in the
individual's junior or senior year in certain circumstances; making this Act an
emergency measure; and generally relating to high school diplomas for World
War II veterans.
FOR the purpose of allowing a certain individual honorably discharged from military
service to apply to certain county boards of education to obtain a high school
diploma if the individual withdrew from a certain full-time public or private
high school under certain circumstances; making this Act an emergency measure;
and generally relating to high school diplomas for certain veterans.
