Provided that the Department of Budget
and Management (DBM) shall fully
explore prescription drug cost savings
options before executing its renewal
option for calendar 2004 with the
incumbent pharmacy benefit manager for
the State employees' prescription drug
program. At a minimum, DBM shall
explore (1) joining the nonprofit
prescription formulary consortium
currently being developed by a number of
northeastern states; (2) developing a
single preferred drug list for the State
employees' prescription drug program and
the Medicaid program; and (3) rebidding
the current contract with AdvancePCS
rather than exercising its renewal option
for calendar 2004. This report shall also
