(2) The terms of the trustees are staggered as required by the terms of
the trustees serving on July 1, 1988.
(3) A trustee serves only for the remainder of a term if the trustee is
appointed:
(i) To fill a vacancy in an unexpired term; or
(ii) To succeed a trustee who is holding over.
(4) A trustee serves until the successor of the trustee is appointed and
qualifies.
(e) On taking office, each trustee shall take the oath required by Article I, § 9
of the Maryland Constitution.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2000.

(House Bill 1195)
AN ACT concerning
Garrett County - Marriage License Fee
FOR the purpose of modifying the maximum amount of the additional marriage
license fee that the Garrett County Board of County Commissioners is
authorized to set; requiring the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Garrett County to
pay the proceeds from the additional fee to the County Commissioners each
month; providing that the proceeds from the additional fee be used to fund
domestic violence programs in Garrett County; and generally relating to
marriage license fees in Garrett County.
