Section 12-102
Article 22 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1991 Edition and December 1997 Supplement, as amended)
(As enacted by Chapter 237 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1998)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 22 - Washington County
12-102.
(a) There is a Board of Trustees of the Washington County Museum of Fine
Arts.
(b) The Board consists of [18 trustees as follows] THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS:
(1) 15 trustees appointed by the Board;
(2) As an ex officio member, the President of the Board of County
Commissioners or a County Commissioner designated by the President;
(3) As an ex officio member, the Superintendent of Schools of
Washington County; [and]
(4) As an ex officio member, the Mayor of the City of Hagerstown or a
City Council member designated by the Mayor;
(5) AS AN HONORARY MEMBER, A FORMER TRUSTEE HONORARY
MEMBERS, ONE OR MORE FORMER TRUSTEES RECOGNIZED FOR EXCEPTIONAL
SERVICE TO THE MUSEUM, APPOINTED BY THE BOARD; AND
(6) AS TRUSTEE EMERITUS, A FORMER TRUSTEE TRUSTEES EMERITI,
ONE OR MORE FORMER TRUSTEES WHOSE ADVICE AND COUNSEL IS CONSIDERED
CRITICAL TO THE OPERATION OF THE MUSEUM, APPOINTED BY THE BOARD; AND
(7) AS ORGANIZATIONAL TRUSTEES, ONE OR MORE OFFICERS OF
AUXILIARY ORGANIZATIONS OF THE MUSEUM, APPOINTED BY THE BOARD.
(c) The Board may appoint up to six additional trustees.
(d) (1) (I) Each EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBPARAGRAPHS (ID AND (III)
OF THIS PARAGRAPH, EACH trustee serves for a term of 5 years.
(II) HONORARY MEMBERS AND TRUSTEE EMERITI SHALL SERVE
AT THE PLEASURE OF THE BOARD.
(III) ORGANIZATIONAL TRUSTEES SHALL SERVE AS LONG AS THEY
ARE DULY ELECTED OFFICERS OF THE ORGANIZATION.
