AN ACT concerning
Anne Arundel County - State's Attorney - Salary
FOR the purpose of altering provisions of law regarding the salary of the State's
Attorney for Anne Arundel County to increase the salary of the State's Attorney
to equal the salary of a circuit judge of certain judicial circuits as of the
beginning of a certain term of office for a certain calendar year; requiring the
salary of the State's Attorney for Anne Arundel County to be increased annually
by a certain amount in subsequent calendar years; providing for the application
of this Act; providing for a delayed effective date; and generally relating to the
salary of the State's Attorney of Anne Arundel County,
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 10 - Legal Officials
40.
(c) In Anne Arundel County:
(1) (i) [The State's Attorney's annual salary is:
1. $89,000 in calendar year 1998;
2. $94,000 in calendar year 1999;
3. $96,635 in calendar year 2000;
4. $99,340 in calendar year 2001; and
5. $102,125 in calendar year 2002]
1. THE STATE'S ATTORNEY'S SALARY SHALL BE EQUAL TO
THE SALARY OF A CIRCUIT JUDGE OF THE EIGHT JUDICIAL CIRCUITS AS OF THE
BEGINNING OF THE STATE'S ATTORNEYS TERM OF OFFICE; AND
2. INCREASED ANNUALLY DURING THE TERM OF OFFICE BY
AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE INCREASE IN THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX DURING THE
PREVIOUS YEAR.
