Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2000-2-9
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMISSIONERS OF
WESTERNPORT adopted pursuant to authority of Article XI-E of the Constitution of
Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1981
Replacement Volume and 1986 Cumulative Supplement) to amend the Charter of
Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport (set forth in Municipal Charters of
Maryland, State Department of Legislative Reference, 1983 Edition, as amended), by
repealing and re-enacting, with amendments, Section 301, Number, Selection, Term
of Article III, the Commission of said Charter, and Section 610, Election of the Mayor
and Councilmembers, Item a. of Article VI, Registration, Nomination and Elections of
said Charter, to allow for staggered terms for those two (2) Commissioners receiving
the highest vote, allowing them to serve a four (4) year term, and the remaining two
(2) Commissioners to serve a two (2) year term.

Westernport, Allegany County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland -
