(4) the Department of the Environment;
(5) the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene;
(6) the Department of Human Resources;
(7) the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation;
(8) the Department of Transportation;
(9) the community colleges;
(10) the Military Department; and
(11) any other State agency as determined by the Secretary. (d) Staff for the Committee shall be provided by the Department of Budget
and Management. DRAFTER'S NOTE: Error: Function paragraph of bill being cured incorrectly indicated that
§§ 2-804 and 2-806 of the State Personnel and Pensions Article, rather
than §§ 2-804 through 2-806, were being added. Occurred: Chapter 466 (House Bill 870) of the Acts of 1999. Chapter 397 of the Acts of 1998 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows: Article - Corporations and Associations 2-405.3. (A) THIS SECTION APPLIES TO A CORPORATION THAT IS AN INVESTMENT
COMPANY, AS DEFINED BY THE INVESTMENT COMPANY ACT OF 1940. (B) A DIRECTOR OF A CORPORATION WHO WITH RESPECT TO THE
CORPORATION IS NOT AN INTERESTED PERSON, AS DEFINED BY THE INVESTMENT
COMPANY ACT OF 1940, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE INDEPENDENT AND
DISINTERESTED WHEN MAKING ANY DETERMINATION OR TAKING ANY ACTION AS A
DIRECTOR SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this Act shall
be construed retroactively and shall be applied to and interpreted to affect only those
cases filed on or after January 30, 1998. DRAFTER'S NOTE: Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 397 (Senate Bill 468) of the Acts of 1998 are
