In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 471 - Dorchester County - Public School Capital Improvement
Bonds.
This bill authorizes the County Commissioners of Dorchester County to issue up to
$2.5 million in general obligation bonds to finance capital improvements to the
county's public schools.
House Bill 1355, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on
April 25, 2000, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me
to sign Senate Bill 471.
Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
