6. SHALL ONLY REQUIRE ATTENDANCE THROUGHOUT THE
DURATION OF THE COURSE IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE COURSE;
OR
(II) CONTAIN A HANDGUN SAFETY COMPONENT AND BE
CONDUCTED BY AN INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANIZATION CERTIFIED BY:
1. THE POLICE TRAINING COMMISSION;
2. THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES;
3. THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE; OR
4. ANY REPUTABLE ORGANIZATION HAVING AS ONE OF ITS
OBJECTIVES THE PROMOTION OF COMPETENCY AND SAFETY IN HANDLING
HANDGUNS WHOSE COURSE HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY THE COMMISSION TO MEET
THE REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE COMMISSION.
Article 88B - Department of State Police
81.
(A) (1) THERE IS A CEASE FIRE COUNCIL WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF
STATE POLICE.
(2) (I) THE COUNCIL SHALL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING 11
MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR:
1. THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE
JUSTICE, OR THE SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE;
2. THE SECRETARY OF THE STATE POLICE, OR THE
SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE;
3. THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
SAFETY AND CORRECTIONAL SERVICES, OR THE SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE;
4. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
OF CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION, OR THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S DESIGNEE;
5. TWO STATE'S ATTORNEYS WHO ARE RECOMMENDED BY
THE PRESIDENT OF THE MARYLAND STATE'S ATTORNEYS' ASSOCIATION, APPOINTED
BY THE GOVERNOR;
6. ONE SHERIFF;
7. ONE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MARYLAND CHIEFS OF
POLICE ASSOCIATION, APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR;
8. ONE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MARYLAND MUNICIPAL
POLICE EXECUTIVES ASSOCIATION, APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR;
9. TWO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC,
APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR.
