PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor Ch. 240
(i) Authorizes the licensee to practice dentistry to the same extent
as other faculty members who hold general licenses to practice dentistry, provided
that the licensee only practices dentistry at established teaching sites and faculty
programs of the University of Maryland Dental School; and (ii) Shall be surrendered immediately to the Board when the
licensee ceases to hold an appointment as a full-time faculty member of the
University of Maryland Dental School. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, Notwithstanding the
provisions of § 4-303(a) of the Health Occupations Article, the State Board of Dental
Examiners may waive the education requirements of § 4-302(d) of the article Health
Occupations Article for a general licensee applicant who meets the criteria provided
in § 4-303(b) of the article Health Occupations Article and was enrolled in a residency
program at The University of Maryland Dental School on or before July 1, 199
8 and is
examined by the State Board of Dental Examiners on or before December 31, 2000:
(1) (i) was enrolled in a residency program at The University of
Maryland Dental School on or before July, 199
8; and (ii) is examined by the State Board of Dental Examiners on or
before December 31, 2000; or
(2) (i) was a resident of Maryland on or before October 1, 1999; (ii) on or after October 1, 1999, was enrolled in a program that
meets the criteria of § 4-303(b)(2) of the Health Occupations Article and completed
that program before July 1, 2001; and
(iii) is examined by the State Board of Dental Examiners before
September 1, 2001
was enrolled in a residency program at the University of Maryland
Dental School on or before July 1, 1998 and is examined by the State Board of Dental
Examiners on or before December 31, 2000
. SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2000. Approved May 11, 2000.
