Defined terms: "Inmate" § 1-101
"Sentenced inmates" § 9-401

(C) AVERAGE NUMBER OF INMATE DAYS.

"AVERAGE NUMBER OF INMATE DAYS" MEANS THE AVERAGE ANNUAL NUMBER
OF DAYS SERVED BY SENTENCED INMATES DURING FISCAL YEARS 1984, 1985, AND
1986 WHO WERE SENTENCED FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS AND NOT MORE THAN 12
MONTHS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 27, § 690(d)(1)(ii).

"Sentenced inmates" § 9-401

(D) SENTENCED INMATES.

"SENTENCED INMATES" MEANS THOSE INMATES CONFINED IN A LOCAL
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY AFTER BEING SENTENCED TO THE CUSTODY OF THE
LOCAL CORRECTIONAL FACILITY FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 27, § 690(d)(1)(iii).

In this subsection, the term "confined" is substituted for the former term
"incarcerated" for consistency with 9-403(a)(1) and 9-405(a) of this
subtitle.

Defined terms: "Inmate" § 1-101

"Local correctional facility" § 1-101

(E) START-UP COSTS.

"START-UP COSTS" MAY INCLUDE COSTS FOR:

(1) CONSULTATION FEES;

(2) PERSONNEL;

(3) EQUIPMENT;

(4) INITIAL TRAINING FOR STAFF; AND

(5) OTHER SERVICES RELATED TO THE START-UP OF A LOCAL
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived without
substantive change from the second sentence of former Art. 27, § 690(i)(2).

In item (4) of this subsection, the reference to initial training "for staff" is
added to state expressly that which was only implied in the former
reference to "initial training" and for consistency with § 11-308 of this
article.
