"ADVISORY COMMITTEE" MEANS THE STATE USE INDUSTRIES ADVISORY
COMMITTEE.

(C) CONTRACTING UNIT.

"CONTRACTING UNIT" MEANS A UNIT OF STATE GOVERNMENT THAT IS:

(1) AUTHORIZED TO CONTRACT FOR GOODS AND SERVICES; OR

(2) RESPONSIBLE FOR PROCUREMENT OF GOODS AND SERVICES.

substantive change from former Art. 27, § 681(6).

In the introductory language of this subsection, the term "unit" is
substituted for the former term "agency" for consistency with terminology
used in other revised articles of the Code. See, e.g., SF § 11-101(x); see also
General Revisor's Note to this article.

In item (2) of this subsection, the former reference to "other employment
services" is deleted as unnecessary in light of the broad reference to
"services".

Also in item (2) of this subsection, the reference to "goods" is substituted
for the former reference to "commodit[ies]" for consistency with item (1) of
this subsection.

(D) GENERAL MANAGER

"GENERAL MANAGER" MEANS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF STATE USE
INDUSTRIES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 27, § 681(2).

The former phrase "within the Division of Correction" is deleted as
unnecessary in light of § 3-503 of this subtitle, which establishes State Use
Industries in the Division.

(E) POLITICAL SUBDIVISION.

"POLITICAL SUBDIVISION" MEANS A COUNTY, MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, OR
SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 681(5).

The former reference to counties, municipal corporations, and special
taxing districts "of this State" is deleted as inconsistent with § 3-511(5) of
this subtitle.
