AN ACT to:

(1) require regulations to set the limit for crime victim compensation under
the victim advocate program;

(2) allow compensation for more types of costs of a crime;

(3) allow a County resident who is a victim of a crime committed outside the
County to receive compensation under certain circumstances;

(4) allow the County to waive income eligibility requirements for crime
victims to receive compensation under certain circumstances;

(5) allow members of a crime victim's immediate family or household to
receive compensation for mental health services related to the crime;

(6) establish a fund to provide financial assistance to crime victims;

(7) allow the victim advocate program to solicit and use public and private
contributions to compensate crime victims and match private funds with additional
County funds;

(8) allow unencumbered amounts in the fund from one fiscal year to be used in
a later fiscal year;
