MARYLAND, TO AMEND SECTION 6 OF THE CITY CHARTER SO AS TO
STATE THAT THE CITY COUNCIL'S ABILITY TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETINGS,
AS WELL AS SPECIAL MEETINGS IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF

THE STATE OF MARYLAND

[Section 6 of the Charter of the City of Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, as
found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal Charters
(1990 Replacement Edition and 1998 Supplement), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF GAITHERSBURG,
MARYLAND, TO AMEND SECTION 20 OF THE CITY CHARTER SO AS TO
PROVIDE THAT VIOLATION OF SPECIFIED ORDINANCES CONSTITUTE A
MUNICIPAL INFRACTION AND ALSO INCREASE THE PENALTY FOR
MISDEMEANORS FROM FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) AND/OR A
MAXIMUM OF NINETY (90) DAYS IMPRISONMENT TO THE MAXIMUM
ALLOWABLE VALUE BY STATE LAW OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($1,000.00) AND/OR A MAXIMUM OF SIX (6) MONTHS IMPRISONMENT
