A BILL OR ACCOUNT AGAINST A UNIT MAY NOT BE PAID UNLESS IT IS
APPROVED BY THE DIVISION.

3-221. FEDERAL GRANTS AND LOANS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

THE DIVISION MAY APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE FUNDS OR PROPERTY IN THE
FORM OF A GRANT OR LOAN FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OR A UNIT OF THE
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH OR MAINTAIN CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES IN
THE DIVISION ON THE TERMS THAT THE DIVISION APPROVES.

(B) STATE LAW.

THE DIVISION MAY NOT APPLY FOR A GRANT OR LOAN UNDER THIS SECTION IF
THERE IS A REQUIREMENT TO APPLY ANY OF THE FUNDS OR PROPERTY IN
CONTRAVENTION OF ANY PROVISION OF STATE LAW RELATING TO CORRECTIONAL
FACILITIES IN THE DIVISION.

(C) APPROVAL OF LOAN.

THE DIVISION MAY NOT ACCEPT A LOAN UNDER THIS SECTION UNLESS THE
DIVISION HAS OBTAINED ANY APPROVAL REQUIRED BY LAW.

(D) REPAYMENT OF LOAN.

THE REPAYMENT OF A LOAN WITH INTEREST, IF ANY, SHALL BE MADE FROM
FUNDS APPROPRIATED TO THE DIVISION IN THE STATE BUDGET.
