(5) INFORMATION THE GOVERNMENTAL UNIT OR NOT-FOR-PROFIT
ORGANIZATION OBTAINS FROM THE CENTRAL REPOSITORY UNDER THIS
SUBSECTION SHALL BE:
(I) CONFIDENTIAL AND MAY NOT BE REDISSEMINATED; AND
(II) USED ONLY FOR THE EMPLOYMENT PURPOSE AUTHORIZED BY
THIS SECTION.
(6) IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 27, § 752 OF THE CODE, A DRIVER
EMPLOYED BY A GOVERNMENTAL UNIT OR NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION MAY
CHALLENGE THE CONTENTS OF A PRINTED STATEMENT OR REVISED PRINTED
STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM CENTRAL
REPOSITORY, THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, OR A PRIVATE
INVESTIGATOR.
[(c)] (D) (F) This subtitle does not limit the power of a political subdivision
of the State to adopt reasonable traffic regulations such as:
(1) the designation of taxicab stands; and
(2) the restriction or prohibition of cruising along a public street when
the cruising would menace the public safety or unduly congest traffic.
SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That notwithstanding the
provisions of this Act, a driver for a provider of a transportation service listed in §
10-102(b)(2) of the Public Utility Companies Article, as enacted by this Act, may not
be required to obtain apply for a criminal history records check or driving record
check of a driver who if the driver is employed by the provider as of October 1, 1999,
solely for the purposes of providing one or more of those listed transportation services.
SECTION 3. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 1999.

AN ACT concerning
Highway Work Zones - Reducing Speed Limits - Counties County and
Municipal Authority
FOR the purpose of authorizing a county, municipal corporation, or Baltimore City to
designate an area as a highway work zone and reduce the established speed
limits in a highway work zone under certain circumstances; and generally
relating to reducing the authority of local governments to reduce speed limits in
highway work zones on certain highways.
