amount of the matching fund shall be expended for the purposes provided in this Act.
Any amount of the loan in excess of the amount of the matching fund certified by the
Board of Public Works shall be canceled and be of no further effect.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1999.

Election Code - Dorchester County and Kent Counties - Board of Elections -
Salary of Board Members Compensation

FOR the purpose of altering the minimum annual salary of the members of the
Dorchester County Board of Elections; altering the minimum annual salary of
the members of the Kent County Board of Elections; altering the minimum
compensation of substitute members of the Kent County Board of Elections;
providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the
incumbent members of the Board boards; providing for the effective date of this
Act; and generally relating to the salary of the members of the Dorchester
County Board of Elections and the salary and compensation of members and
substitute members of the Kent County Board of Elections.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-204.

(a) Each regular member of a local board shall receive the salary and
reimbursement of expenses provided in the county budget, but in no event may the
annual compensation be less than the following amounts:

(10) In Dorchester County, [$2,500] $3,000 and expenses as authorized by
the County Commissioners;

(15) In Kent County, [$1,250] $1,500 for the president and [$1,000]
$1,500 for other regular members;
