SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That for fiscal year 2001, the
Governor may include in the budget bill an appropriation to the Joseph Fund equal to
the lesser of;
(i) 40% of the unappropriated surplus as of June 30, 1999; or
(ii) $10,000,000.
SECTION 3. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1999.

AN ACT concerning
Teachers' Retirement and Pension Systems - Reemployment of Retired
Teachers
FOR the purpose of exempting from a certain offset of a retirement allowance certain
retirees of the Teachers' Retirement System or the Teachers' Pension System
who are employed by certain public schools; requiring the State Board of
Education county boards of education to provide certain information to the State
Retirement Agency; requiring the State Board of Education to adopt certain
regulations; requiring the State Board of Education to provide certain
information to the county boards of education; requiring the State Board of
Education to submit a certain report reports to the Governor and the General
Assembly in a certain manner on or before a certain date dates; providing for the
termination of this Act; and generally relating to the reemployment of retired
teachers.
