AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws-Obstruction to of Driver's View Military Installation
Stickers Motor Vehicles - Windshield Materials - Governmental Exemptions
FOR the purpose of creating an exception to the prohibition against a person driving
a vehicle with certain materials on a windshield of a motor vehicle under certain
circumstances for the certain to allow placement on a windshield of a certain
sticker used for gaining entrance to certain military installations requiring the
Motor Vehicle Administration to adopt regulations to exempt certain government
agencies from certain prohibitions against driving a vehicle with certain
materials on the vehicle's windshield; and generally relating to the obstruction of
a vehicle driver's view of traffic windshield material prohibitions and
exemptions.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

21-1104.
(d) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) PARAGRAPHS (2) AND (3) of this
subsection, a person may not drive a vehicle with any sign, poster, card, sticker, or
other nontransparent material on the windshield, side wings, or side or rear windows
of the vehicle.
(2) This subsection does not apply to:
(i) Materials placed on the windshield or rear window, within a 7
inch square area in the lower corner, or on the side windows of the vehicle to the rear
of the driver, if the materials are placed so as not to interfere with the driver's clear
view of traffic;
(ii) Direction, destination, or termini signs on any passenger
common carrier motor vehicle; [or]
(iii) Electronic toll collection tags placed in the windshield of a
vehicle in accordance with the regulations of the Maryland Transportation Authority;
