this Act. After June 1, 2002, any amount of the loan in excess of the amount of the
matching fund certified by the Board of Public Works shall be canceled and be of no
further effect.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1999.

AN ACT concerning
Optional Defined Contribution System - Supplemental Retirement Plans
Authorized by Institutions of Higher Education
FOR the purpose of authorizing certain members of the Employees' Pension System
who contribute to certain supplemental retirement plans authorized by certain
institutions of higher education to participate in the Optional Defined
Contribution System and receive a certain matching contribution from the State
up to a certain maximum amount; restricting the plans that may be authorized
by certain institutions of higher education to be offered only on a certain basis
and to a certain class of employees; requiring the State Board of Trustees of the
Maryland Teachers and State Employees Supplemental Retirement Plans
certain institutions to make a certain determination of eligibility to participate
in the Optional Defined Contribution System; altering a certain definition; and
generally relating to the Optional Defined Contribution System.
