and to review certain laws and procedures concerning the compensation of
County Commissioners by certain dates; requiring the Commission to make
certain recommendations concerning the compensation of certain county
officials to the County Commissioners by certain dates; defining certain terms;
specifying that this Act shall not affect the compensation of certain officials;
repealing inconsistent laws to the extent of inconsistency; and generally relating
to the creation of a St. Mary's County Compensation Review Commission.

23-1.

(A) IN THIS CHAPTER THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(B) "BENEFITS" INCLUDES COUNTY SUBSIDIZED HEALTH PLANS AND THE
ACCRUAL OF SICK LEAVE AND ANNUAL LEAVE.

(C) "COMMISSION" MEANS THE ST. MARY'S COUNTY COMPENSATION REVIEW
COMMISSION.

(D) "COMPENSATION" MEANS SALARY AND BENEFITS RECEIVED IN PAYMENT
FOR SERVICES RENDERED.

THE COMMISSION CONSISTS OF 7 MEMBERS, OF WHOM:

(1) 3 MEMBERS SHALL BE APPOINTED BY. THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS;

(2) 2 . MEMBERS SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE
DELEGATION FROM THE 29TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT;
