REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 70, § 13.

The reference to "(name)" is substituted for the former reference to "A.B."
for clarity.

The reference to "money, profit" is substituted for the former archaic
reference to "lucre".

The reference to "Office of the Register" is substituted for the former
references to the "office I officiate in" and "said office" for clarity.

The former reference to "wittingly" charging other or higher fees than those
allowed by law is deleted as unnecessary in light of the reference in this
section to "willingly".

The reference to "clerk" of the Register is substituted throughout this section
for the former obsolete reference to "under-clerk" of the Register.

15-115. CORPORATIONS THAT ACT AS FIDUCIARIES NOT LIABLE AS SURETIES.

A CORPORATION THAT UNDER THE LAWS OF THIS STATE MAY ACT AS A
FIDUCIARY WITHOUT BOND OR SECURITY OTHER THAN ITS OWN OBLIGATION MAY
NOT INCUR THE LIABILITY OF A SURETY UPON A BOND.

(c) (4) THE DEPARTMENT MAY NOT COLLECT A FEE FOR A COPY OF A
VITAL RECORD ISSUED TO:

(I) A CURRENT OR FORMER MEMBER OF THE ARMED FORCES OF
THE UNITED STATES; OR

(II) THE SURVIVING SPOUSE OR CHILD OF THE MEMBER, IF THE
COPY WILL BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH A CLAIM FOR A DEPENDENT OR
BENEFICIARY OF THE MEMBER.

EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATION, OR UNION TO HEAR EMPLOYEE GRIEVANCES.
