CERTIFICATIONS
Act known as Chapter 114 of the Acts of 1995 was submitted to the voters of the State
of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of the State of
Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT concerning
Governor - "Lame Duck" Appointments
FOR the purpose of limiting the power of a Governor during certain periods to appoint
a person to an office in the Executive Branch; subjecting certain appointments
to approval by the next succeeding Governor; and submitting this amendment to
the qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election, 1,105,560 votes were cast for the
adoption of said Chapter 114 and 226,646 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 114, the said Chapter 114 of the Acts of 1995 has therefore been ratified.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 5, 1996, an
Act known as Chapter 80 of the Acts of 1996 was submitted to the voters of the State
of Maryland under the provisions of Article XVI of the Constitution of the State of
Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT concerning
Dual Office Holding - Exceptions
FOR the purpose of providing for exceptions to constitutional prohibitions against
holding more than one office for law enforcement officers or fire department or
rescue squad members; generally relating to dual office holding; and submitting
this amendment to the qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their
adoption or rejection.
