PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor
S.B. 199
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 199.
This bill alters the State Board of Certified Interior Designer's continuing education
requirements for certified interior designer license renewals. Applicants for renewal
certificates must earn at least one unit in two or more courses approved by the board, in
place of the current requirement that at least two continuing education units be
completed in any combination of board approved courses during each two year certificate
term. This reduces the number of required hours from 20 per licensing term to 10.
House Bill 513, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on this date,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill
199.
Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
