1997 LAWS OF MARYLAND
§ 26(1) [of Article 38A of this] OF THE Code, wreck, destroy, injure or damage, in whole
or in part, or attempt so to do, or conspire or connive thereat, any property whether real
or personal, public or private, shall be guilty of a felony, and shall be subject, in the
discretion of the court, to imprisonment for life or for a definite period not exceeding
twenty years, or to a fine not exceeding twenty thousand dollars, or to both fine and
imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.

Any person who shall wilfully wear, exhibit, display, print, or use, for any purpose,
the badge, motto, button, decoration, charm, emblem, rosette, or other insignia of any
such association or organization, herein mentioned, duly registered hereunder, unless he
or she shall be entitled to use and wear the same under the constitution and bylaws, rules,
and regulations of such association and organization, shall be guilty of A misdemeanor,
and upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars
($100.00), and, in default of payment, committed to jail for a period of not to exceed sixty
(60) days.

(c) All human remains and associated funerary objects obtained in violation of
this subheading or of Article 27, §§ 265 [through] AND 267 of the Code are subject to
appropriation by the State for management, care, and administration by the Maryland
Historical Trust until a determination of final disposition as provided by law.

The following words and phrases as used in this subheading shall have the following
meanings unless the context otherwise requires:
(q) "Narcotic drug" shall mean any of the following, whether produced directly or
indirectly by extraction from substances of vegetable origin, or independently by means of
chemical synthesis, or by a combination of extraction and chemical synthesis; and which
have been found to present an extreme danger to the health and welfare of the
community because of their addiction-forming and addiction-sustaining liabilities:
