(a)     This section only applies if there is no greater criminal penalty provided under
this title or other applicable law.

(b)     A person who [knowingly and willfully] violates this title is guilty of a
misdemeanor and, on conviction, is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or
imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Real Properly - Recordation, Subordination Agreements, and Powers of Attorney

FOR the purpose of authorizing the recording of certain assumption agreements;
authorizing the recording of certified copies of certain documents from foreign
states and jurisdictions; authorizing the execution of a release by the holder of a
certain deed of trust note; requiring the clerk to accept certain documents for
recording; allowing the recordation of certain powers of attorney subsequent to
certain deeds; authorizing lenders to subordinate their interests in a certain
manner; providing a certain form for a certificate of partial satisfaction; clarifying
certain terms; and generally relating to instruments affecting real property.
