AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL 175/SENATE BILL 185
(First Reading File Bill)

Amendment No. 1:

On page 13, in line 6, strike "." and add the words "; provided, however, that
contingent upon the appropriation of $494,880 in Supplemental Budget No. 2, program
DE01.15 Payments of Judgements Against the State, providing funds for back pay awards
to administrative law judges as provided in Office of Administrative Hearings v. Jon M. Will,
et al. (Court of Special Appeals of Maryland, No. 1431, September Term, 1994, Filed:
May 3, 1995), this language will have no force and effect.".

Amendment No. 2:

On page 14, beginning in line 37 and ending in line 42, strike the words "to" through
"plan." in their entirety and substitute the words "provided that $2.000,000 of this amount
is appropriated to reimburse the Maryland Emergency Medical System Operations Fund
as required by Section 13-955(f) of the Transportation Article;".

Amendment No. 3:

On page 44 45, following line 1, add:

"Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, authorization for the following
State project is reduced:

Elk Neck State Park.................................................................... 500.000

Further provided that the following State project is authorized:

Fair Hill NRMA........................................................................ 500,000".

Amendment No. 4:

On page 46, beginning in line 4 and ending in line 9, and beginning in line 14 and
ending in line 19, in each instance, strike the words ", provided" through "Police" in their
entirety.

Amendment No. 5:

On page 125, beginning in line 23 and ending in line 27, strike the words "; and"
through "Acts of 1996" in their entirety.

Amendment No. 6:

On page 166, following line 22, add:

"SECTION 18 36. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED. That contingent upon the
enactment of SB 388 or HB 507, in fiscal year 1998 the Governor may transfer special
fund appropriations by budget amendment between the Departments of Agriculture and
Natural Resources in order to carry out the provisions of the "Smart Growth" and
Neighborhood Conservation - Rural Legacy Program.".

In line 23, strike the number "18" and substitute the number "19"; and in line 29,
strike the number "19" and substitute the number "20".
