Chairman of the Charles County Board of Education, or Treasurer of Charles County
shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore County - Orphans' Court - Salaries of Judges

FOR the purpose of altering the salaries of the judges of the Orphans' Court for
Baltimore County; providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or
compensation of the incumbent judges of the Orphans' Court for Baltimore County;
and generally relating to the salaries of the judges of the Orphans' Court for
Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

2-108.

(a) Except in Montgomery and Harford Counties, the judges of the courts shall
receive compensation and allowances as prescribed by law. Unless otherwise provided,
the compensation shall be paid in monthly installments. Mileage or travel expenses may
not be allowed to a judge for attending sessions of his court except as specifically
provided.
