SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall be
construed only prospectively and may not be applied or interpreted to have any effect on
or application to any easement purchased by the Maryland Agricultural Land
Preservation Foundation before the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Harford County - Fishing Pound Nets - Distance Requirement

FOR the purpose of increasing the distance from the shoreline that a person may fish in
the Gunpowder River in certain locations at certain times.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

4-721.

(c) A person may not fish a pound net in any part of the Gunpowder and Bush
rivers lying in Harford County further than [750 feet from the shoreline] 1,500 FEET
FROM THE SHORELINE OF THE GUNPOWDER RIVER BELOW MAXWELL POINT AT
MEAN LOW WATER TIDE AND 750 FEET FROM THE SHORELINE OF THE BUSH RIVER
at mean low water tide.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October June 1, 1997.
