SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect

AN ACT concerning

Frederick County — Marriage License Fee

FOR the purpose of increasing the maximum amount of the additional marriage license
fee that the Frederick County Board of County Commissioners may set; requiring the
clerk of the Circuit Court for Frederick County to pay the proceeds from the additional
marriage license fee to the County Commissioners under certain circumstances; requiring
(he proceeds to be used to fund certain domestic violence programs; and generally
relating to marriage license fees in Frederick County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article — Family Law

2-404.

(1) In Frederick County,;

(1) the Board of County Commissioners may set an additional fee, in an
amount not to exceed [$45] $65, for each license,;

(2) THE CLERK SHALL PAY THE PROCEEDS FROM THE ADDITIONAL FEE TO
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS EACH MONTH; AND

(3) THE PROCEEDS. IN ADDITION TO DESIGNATED FEDERAL STATE. AND
COUNTY FUNDS. SHALL BE USED TO FUND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAMS
ESTABLISHED UNDER TITLE 4. SUBTITLE 5 OF THIS ARTICLE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1997.
