AMENDMENTS TO SENATE BILL 160/HOUSE BILL 160
(First Reading File Bill)

Amendment No. 1:

On page 16, in line 14, strike the word "and" and add the words "and, construction
and".

Amendment No. 2:

On page 45, beginning in line 2 and ending in line 4, strike the words "legislation"
through "Space" and substitute the words "HB 1232 allocating a certain percentage of
those funds not required to pay bonds issued under the Outdoor Recreation Land Loan
of 1969, or salaries and expenses necessary to administer Program Open Space to the
General Fund of the State".

Amendment No. 3:

On page 46, beginning in line 23 and ending in line 25, strike the words "legislation"
through "facilities" and substitute the words "HB 1334 is enacted authorizing the
Department of Natural Resources to use certain Program Open Space funds for
operating costs for land owned by the State under certain circumstances".

Amendment No. 4:

On page 54, beginning in line 36 and ending on page 55 in line 3, strike the words
"legislation" through "Fund" and substitute the words "HB 1232 allocating a certain
percentage of those funds not required to pay bonds issued under the Outdoor
Recreation Land Loan of 1969, or salaries and expenses necessary to administer Program
Open Space to the General Fund of the State".

Amendment No. 5:

On page 85, in line 16, following the word "Appropriation" add the words ",
provided that this appropriation is contingent upon the enactment of SB 296 or HB 349
amending Section 2, Chapter 446 of the Acts of 1988, as amended by Section 13, Chapter
115 of the Acts of 1994, to authorize the use of funds in the Law Enforcement and
Correctional Training Fund to design, construct, and equip the Public Safety Training
Center."

Amendment No. 6:

On page 96, in line 25, beginning in line 25 and ending in line 28, strike the words
"legislation" through "certificate" and substitute the words "HB 1253 expanding a certain
law that provides for a fee for the issuance or renewal of teacher certificates; and
generally relating to the fees charged for teacher certificates."

Amendment No. 7:

On page 101, in the unnumbered lino following line 3, add the words "The
Chancellor and the presidents of the University of Maryland System institutions shall not
create any permanent position within the University of Maryland System so that the total
number of positions exceeds 16,414."
