A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE CITY OF LAUREL CHARTER TO PROVIDE
THAT ALL ORDINANCES ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAUREL SHALL BE
SUBJECT TO REFERENDUM, WITH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS, AND TO
PROVIDE FOR ADVISORY REFERENDA.

[Sections 621 and 622 of the Charter of the City of Laurel, Prince George's County,
as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal Charters
(1990 Replacement Edition and 1995 Supplement), added.

Effective Date January 16, 1996]

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SECTIONS 312 AND 352 OF THE CITY OF LAUREL
CHARTER RELATING TO THE OATH OF OFFICE OF THE MAYOR AND THE
CITY COUNCILMEMBERS

[Sections 312 and 352 of the Charter of the City of Laurel, Prince George's County,
as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal Charters
(1990 Replacement Edition and 1995 Supplement), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

Effective Date January 16, 1996]

Resolution No. 2-96

A RESOLUTION TO ANNEX 3.5 ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS.

WHEREAS, a petition pursuant to Article 23A, Sec. 19, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland to annex the parcels of land described as the Land of Joseph G. McKay, as
stated below, and made a part hereof has been received; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor of Leonardtown has verified the signature on the petition
and has further ascertained that:

1.       Said signature represents the owner of all the land to be annexed and is,
thus, the owner of the property representing more than twenty-five percentum of the
assessed valuation of the real property to be annexed; and

2.       No one resides on the property.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved this 15th day of January, 1996, that the parcels
of land described as Land of Joseph G. McKay, the description of which is stated below,
and which is also described as Parcels 172 and 173 on St. Mary's County Tax Map 32, 1995
edition, are hereby annexed into the municipality of Leonardtown, Maryland; and that
