The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 748.

This bill amends the City of Frederick - National Museum of Civil War Medicine Loan of
1994 by extending the date by which the Board of Directors must provide matching funds
totaling $1,000,000.

House Bill 1270, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 14,
1996, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 748.

Sincerely,

Parris N. Glendening

Governor

Senate Bill No. 748

City of Frederick - National Museum of Civil War Medicine

- 4167 -
